Pump application guide
Pumps for Industrial Water Treatment and Pressure Boosting
Select centrifugal and vertical multistage pumps for reverse osmosis, process water, building pressure boosting and industrial water circulation.
Who this is for
Application context
Water-treatment skids, reverse-osmosis systems, industrial utilities, commercial buildings and process-water installations requiring controlled flow and pressure.
Before model selection
Information to collect
- Design flow and minimum required discharge pressure
- Suction pressure and available NPSH information
- Water temperature, chemistry and conductivity
- Continuous, intermittent or duty/standby operation
- Required wetted materials, seals, voltage and motor frequency
Candidate pump families
Ranges to investigate.
These are starting points, not model recommendations. Confirm the exact duty, materials and current curve.
CDL vertical multistage pumps
For compact higher-head clean-water duties, pressure boosting and water-treatment systems.
Explore range →IRG vertical inline centrifugal pumps
For pipeline-connected circulation and boosting where floor space is limited.
Explore range →ISW horizontal centrifugal pumps
For general industrial water transfer and circulation with a horizontal arrangement.

How to narrow the selection.
Define the operating range
Specify normal, minimum and maximum flow rather than one isolated point. The selected curve should cover expected operation without forcing the pump into an unsuitable low-flow or runout condition.
Check system pressure
Total dynamic head must include static lift, required terminal pressure and pipe losses. Also verify casing, connection and seal pressure limits for the full system.
Confirm materials and controls
Water chemistry and temperature influence stainless-steel grade, elastomers and seal selection. Variable-speed control, duty/standby sequencing and dry-run protection should be defined at system level.
Avoid these errors
Common selection mistakes.
- Selecting from pipe diameter alone
- Ignoring suction pressure and cavitation risk
- Comparing shutoff head instead of the duty point
- Assuming all stainless-steel grades have equal chemical resistance
